GCC000 – Announcing the Next Project

What?  GCC, Great Commission Commands.  A series covering each one of the commands that Jesus gave with a post each.  Beginning with the gospel of Matthew (there’s around 100 in there), and then mopping up the other three.

How? Each post will have a headline (pin), the command in a tweet (sharpener), a 100 word explanation (scissor), and a two to three minute video.

Who? Obviously, I’ll produce the posts, but, I’m also hoping there will be an active comments section, and that the project will be somewhat ‘open source’ i.e. if you think there is a better way of saying it, let me know.  If I agree, I’ll change it.

Why?  To advertise the great commission commands.  To provoke our thinking about the 100+ commands Jesus gave his disciples and then told them to teach others.  To keep us close to the intention of Jesus. I love going off about self funding leaders, the consequences of the e/c model, funny coloured oceans and banana cake – but I want to stay anchored to what the Founder has actually asked us to do.  Does it complete the great commision?  No, but it is aligned with it.  Can a blog post teach somebody how to obey?  No, but it does serve as an advert for the command, and a provocation.

When?  Starting this week, at a planned rate of 3 posts a week. I think it will take the next 9 or so months, so let’s hope it’s good.

“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.””  Matthew 28:18-20
